-have a clear base line, conclusion of argument
1st proposition speaker:
clarifies key terms
gives 1st sound reason in support of conclusion with data, specific examples

after 1min, members from opposition may offer POINTS OF INFORMATION
[can stand up to query veracity of points / point out flaws]
1st opposition speaker:
evaluates 1st reason given by proposing team
judges credibility of source of info
gives 1st reason for conclusion of opposing argument
2nd proposition speaker:
consider evaluative response of opposing team + attempt to re-establish validity of 1st reason for proposing team
establish 2nd reason to support conclusion
evaluate 1st reason by opposition + demolish if possible
2nd opposition speaker:
look at reasons 1 & 2 of proposing team, show why they're not valid
re-establish 1st reason given by opposition team to support conclusion & give 2nd reason.
1)3rd proposition and opposition speakers build on above pattern
2) debate's open to anyone. anyone who wishes to speak may do so.
3) both teams given 5 mins to work on final attack and defence
4) opposition gives final 5 min presentation followed by proposition.
5) all speakers have 3 mins.
